‘JUDO’ JIMMY WALLHEAD'
Head Coach

During Jimmys prolific fight career, he fought all over the world and with multiple promotions, from the domestic scene with Cage Warriors through to the International arena with KSW, Bellator and ultimately the UFC.

Jimmy is now the Head coach with the pro team at HW1 MMA as well as passing on his knowledge and experience through the classes and amateur programs here at the gym.

JOE TAYLOR


Head Jiu Jitsu Coach


BJJ Black Belt, Joe Taylor has been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for the best part of a decade. Schooled and mentored from day one by Braulio Estima black belt; Kevin Webb. He has competed and medalled in both Gi and NoGi competitions throughout his time in the sport but has now focused his attention on coaching having formed the ‘Venator Submission Grappling Club’.

ELLA BEALE


Assistant Coach


Ella Beale has competed in Judo, BJJ and MMA. She is a strong female presence in the gym who helps with the development of the youth programme and is a role model to all aspiring women looking to become involved in combat sport.

JACK HENSHALL


Assistant Coach


Jack has been training in martial arts since a small child. Starting with taekwondo and branching out into kickboxing, MMA and Jiu Jitsu. Jack is one of the more active fighters in the gym having had a wealth of amateur MMA experience, even having represented England at an international level.

RILEY DANIELS


Assistant Coach


Riley competes often in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling and has fought MMA at an amateur level multiple times. He is a budding coach in the grappling disciplines who is both knowledgeable and approachable

MAX YOUNG


Assistant Coach


Max first discovered martial arts through Judo and now trains and competes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, both Gi and NoGi. He is available to demonstrate and explain the tools and techniques which have won him multiple medals on the competition circuit.

SAM STRETTON


Assistant Coach


Sam is a purple belt in Brazilian jiu Jitsu and an essential cog in HW1's BJJ coaching system. Sam enjoys sharing new techniques as well as helping our students practice the fundamentals. Sam is always on hand to help and often takes the time to travel and corner at various grappling tournaments.
